Glossary

TOP

Q: Do my curtains come with all fittings to install my curtains?
A: All Curtains on the Net curtains come with the adjustable curtain tape at the top sewn in to allow for small adjustments if required. The only thing that we don't supply you with is the curtain track as most people already have these if they are looking for curtains. We will be adding curtain tracks to the website shortly. If you don't have curtain tracks or Poles go to your local hardware store, just let them know what >

TOP

Q: What is the best curtain to reduce noise?
A: Go for a Block Out curtain as it will do the best job. It will be better at Block Out out the noise than a translucent version. The Block Out version is also excellent at keeping out the light and heat. If you don't have noise or heat issues and still want light to filter through your fabric then we suggest choosing a translucent fabric.

TOP

Q: What is your warranty and how do you compare to other top name brands?
A: The quality of the Curtains on the Net curtains is comparable to all the top name brands. We are very selective with the products we put our name to and we set our selves a very high standard. This means that you get the best possible product at the best possible price. In addition, the guarantee and warranty we provide exceeds those offered by most name brands. We cover all of our product for 12 months but to this day have still never had a claim!

TOP

Q: How Block Out are your Block Out fabrics?
A: Anything that is called "Block Out" on our website is 100% Block Out. This means that no sun will pass through the fabric. As most curtains are face mounted, you normally will not have any light gaps unless the track is mounted too low. For this reason, Curtains are excellent at keeping out the light and also the heat.

TOP

Q: How secure is your credit card online payment facility?
A: Our website uses a company called Paystream to do all of our transactions and this site is 100% secure and trusted. We never keep any credit card details as this is a security risk. If you do not feel comfortable using the credit card Paystream option, then we also accept Cheques or Direct deposits. Just click on the "Direct Deposit" button rather than the Credit card button at the payment stage. Just don't forget to let us know you are putting money into the account by faxing us a copy of the receipt with a copy of your order to 02 8726 1901

TOP

Q: Do you keep my credit card details?
A: In the interest of keeping your records safe, we keep no record of your credit card details.

TOP

Q: How long will it take to get my curtains?
A: For all ready made curtains, delivery usually takes no longer than 5 working days, for all Custom made express curtains, production takes about 10-14 working days and then please allow a few days shipping. Our factory is based in Victoria so for customers living in Victoria, the travelling time will be far less so you will get faster delivery than our customers in other states. Sydney Metro area is usually on a next day basis but this is not a guaranteed service so I would suggest leaving 2 days.

TOP

Q: Is it possible to change my order after I confirm the order?
A: Yes it is, so long as we have not started making the order, anything is possible! We will endeavour to do our best, however if the job is already cut and in production, it is hard to make your curtains bigger, we are however able to trim most curtains down for a small charge.

TOP

Q: If I don't want to pay via credit card, what other payment methods do you offer?
A: We try to make payment as easy and safe as possible for you. We obviously have our safe and secure Paystream website to deal with credit card payments, but for those who don't have a credit card or feel a little wary of using them inline, we also have direct deposit services available. You can also post us a cheque and as soon as the funds are cleared, we will process your order. Cheque and Direct deposit may add a day or 2 onto the delivery time as we have to wait for funds to clear into our account before we can put your curtains into production.

TOP

Q: What if my curtains arrive damaged?
A: All curtains that arrived damaged must be signed for as damaged and of course we will make sure they get replaced. We may require these curtains to be returned so please keep them safe.

TOP

Q:How are my curtains delivered and what if im not home?
A: All our curtains are delivered via courier and it is always best to use a work address or an address where you will know that someone will be there to sign for the goods. If you are not at home for the delivery, our courier will usually leave a note asking you to call them to arrange a convenient time to redeliver. However we don't like curtains going back and forth as this adds time to the delivery and increases the risk of damage.

TOP

Q: How do I measure my windows and what if I measure then incorrectly?
A: Curtains on the Net offers a measuring guide for your convenience and we are always available to call if you have any questions. Call us on 1300 852 912 and we may be able to offer a solution to your problem. If we can't, Curtains on the Net will remake you curtain at a greatly reduced rate. A: Please click here to see our Delivery and Terms policy.

TOP

Q: Why are your ready made curtains cheaper than your made to order curtains?
A: Our ready made curtains are exactly that, ready made and mass produced so that this allows the prices to be kept low. Our made to measure or custom made express curtains are manufactured by hand to your exact size requirement so this is a much more accurate and lengthy process and of course this has to be paid for somewhere. This is why we have a longer lead time for Made to Measure curtains but you also get a more tailored curtain to fit your exact window requirements, we can also make longer drop and wider >

TOP

Q: Are your curtains 100% made to measure or are they cut down curtains?
A: At Curtains on the Net we hate the "cut down" philosophy. This is basically a Chinese ready made curtain that is a very low quality and is then chopped down to size. This means you don't get a consistent curtain at the end of the day and the quality level is far less. All our curtains are sold as either ready made curtains or 100% made to order, we strive for a higher quality level and this may mean we are not the cheapest on the market. We do however strive to keep our quality high so your curtains will last the test of time. All of our Custom made Express range is 100% Australian made.

TOP

Q: What do you mean by inside & outside mount?
A: This refers to the way in which the treatment will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mounts are mounted inside the window opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mounts hang outside the window opening either on the wood frame or above and beyond the wood frame. Outside mount or FACE mount is the most common way to hang curtains today and provides a nice, clean look. Outside mounts are great for doors or windows with a very shallow windowsill depth. An outside mount can also be used to make a window appear larger or to hide an unattractive window. For more information on this please click here to go to our MEASURING GUIDE section.

We are working on getting hooks loaded online, but we are just trying to find the best quality and the best prices.

TOP

Q: What happens if my order is damaged in delivery?:
A: Unfortunately from time to time accidents can happen and with freight companies, its sometimes unavoidable. We mainly use TNT for our freight as they have proved to be the best of a bad bunch. However, we highly recommend that you take out the option of Freight Insurance at the checkout. This is offered as an optional extra and covers any damage or loss to curtains whilst in transit and is only $2.50/$100 of Value. So if you spend $200, your curtains will be covered for an additional $5.00 Not bad for a little bit of extra piece of mind.

If for any reason your curtains are damaged, please ensure that you sign for them as damaged. Sometimes the boxes may be damaged and the curtains inside are perfect, so we always recommend signing for them as damaged if you have any concerns. We will also need to have some photos of the damaged goods sent to us via email to claim on the insurance. Unfortunately curtains that are not insured and get damaged or lost in transit cannot be returned or replaced.

In the checkout you will find a drop down box saying Yes ($) or No, please select Yes ($) to accept the freight insurance. By selecting the NO option, you have removed any right to claim for damages or loss of your goods with curtains on the Net. For this reason we strongly recommend taking out the insurance.

TOP

Q: What happens if my order is lost in delivery?:
A: The reality is that this can happen from time to time, curtains just vanish off the face of the earth never to be seen again. But, fear not, as long you have paid for the freight insurance, we will replace the ordered items after a reasonable period of time has been given for the freight company to try to locate the missing items, TNT will notify us if they have given up all hope of finding your goods, we can then arrange replacement curtains to be made asap.
